Hybrid Living in Tetouan
The proposed infill aims to find a balance between privacy and connection by breaking the building into three distinct programmatic zones that have a seamless flow in the interior. It transforms an unfinished corner into a layered, contemporary living space that feels open, inclusive, and resourceful. The design supports intergenerational living with both single-level and duplex units, while the commercial zone opens up to the city with public spaces that residents can also enjoy. A central courtyard brings light and air into the heart of the building, and rooftop spaces are programmed for activity, while offering great views and extending living to the outdoors. The building is oriented to frame views of the new Feddan and Place Moulay El Mehdi, and includes both public and private rooftop terraces, taking inspiration from the Medina’s tradition of vibrant rooftop use.
